SKINFLIPS SKINS
What are skins?
Skins are self-adhesive premium vinyl decals which are specifically developed for the individualisation of electronic devices, such as mobile phones, laptops, gaming devices, MP3 players and tablet PCs.
They consist of a UV resistant colour layer for a bright and crisp look of the design you’ve chosen. Furthermore, we use a scratch-resistant protective laminate which will protect your skin against every day wear.
For a perfect fit, the shape of each skin is specifically cut for the device you’ve chosen.
Do you offer screen protection films?
Currently we don’t offer screen protection films. If you want to use such a film besides our skins, please apply the protection film BEFORE you apply the skin.
Do you offer skins for the inner display frame of a laptop?
Yes but only for a few devices. You’ll recognize them by a small checkbox “Display Frame” after you selected the device.
Do you offer transparent skins?
No, we’re sorry. We don’t offer neither transparent nor semi-transparent skins at this time. The background is white by default. If you want to use a screen protection film, please apply it before you apply a skin.
Do all laptop skins have a logo cut?
No, not all. You can check if this applies to your device by selecting it in our skin configurator (“CREATE YOUR OWN”). If you see the outline of the logo there, the logo will be cut out.
How long do Skins last?
By using high quality materials and an extremely robust protective layer we can achieve a durability of at least two years, with normal use.
Application & Removal
How do I apply the skin?
It’s really simple! We deliver every skin with detailed instructions in English language.
Once you’ve unwrapped your skin, you’re ready to enjoy the benefits of the “Slide-Able Technology”:
If you gently lay the skin onto a surface, it will literally float on it so you can still adjust the fit if you need to. Only if you put pressure on it, microscopic balls, filled with glue, will burst and the skin will stick to the surface.
How do I avoid/remove bubbles?
If a small amount of air is trapped between the skin and the device, carefully swipe the bubble to the nearest edge of the skin. Tiny channels of the honeycomb structure allow the air to flow and to be released throughout the edge of the skin. If a huge air bubble occurs, release the nearest corner of skin and apply this part of the skin once again. Be extra careful while doing this! If you pull too hard on the skin, it might lose its shape. If you do this more than once, the adhesive power might be reduced.
How do I remove the skin? Will there be residues left on the device?
All of our skins are easily removable without leaving any residues. If the skin has been for a long time on your device, it most certainly sticks pretty hard to it. In this case, carefully warm the skin with a hair dryer. This makes the removal much easier to perform.
Can I apply the skin on a damaged surface?
The application of the skin on a surface which is damaged or worn out (e.g. scratches, paint cracks, etc.), is possible. Many customers like to cover/hide those damages with the help of our skins. CAUTION: Be extra careful while removing the skin from such surfaces to avoid further damages.
Creating own designs
How can I create my own Skin?
Just click on “CREATE YOUR OWN” at the top navigation bar. It’s a link to our online Skin configurator. Once you’ve started this tool, you can upload you own pictures, add text, symbols and colours to your design. You can even edit one of our designs and change it the way you want. If you have any questions regarding particular functions, please click on the question mark. Every step is explained there.
What about copyright?
Please upload only pictures of which you own the copy right.
What file type or file size is supported?
We accept JPG, PNG or TIFF files. Most of your images are probably in the colour space RGB which is suitable for the web but unfortunately not for print. Your images should be in the colour space CMYK. If you upload pictures in RGB, the printed colours will certainly vary from your original image. If you’re working with professional graphic software, you should download the colour profile “ECI ISO Coated v2” and thus convert your art work. Our maximum print resolution is 300dpi. The resolution of your image should be at least 200dpi to achieve convincing results. Always remember: The print result will be as good or as bad as the quality of your image is. Please refrain from using special characters in your file names.

At the moment, we offer skins for laptops, phones, mp3 players, gaming devices and tablet PCs.
I can’t find my device in your web shop!
Please have a look at the bottom of the device for the precise model number. A quick look at the original invoice is also a good idea. Many models have a bunch of model numbers. Unfortunately, we cannot list all of them on our website. If you can’t manage to find your model anyway, please be patient. We extend our model database on a weekly basis.
Will the warranty of my device void if I apply the skin?
No, the warranty will not void but you might have to remove the skin before you send in your device in case it needs to be repaired. To get further details, please contact the manufacturer’s customer service.
Do I have to send my device to SKINFLIPS to get a skin on it?
No, you can easily do that by yourself. Please refrain from sending us devices since we have to charge you for the costs that will occur in order to send it back to you.
